About the role

The Activities Instructor at Community Gateway will be someone who is creative and supportive in the delivery of set programs at our Wollongong office. You will need to be flexible and adaptable to provide the upmost supportive care to our clients both ageing and with disabilities. This flexible approach could include the following:

  • Activity set up

  • Lead the culture of the group with kindness, enthusiasm, inclusivity and encouragement.

  • Support clients enjoyment of activities by ensuring all clients treat each other with kindness and understanding

  • Proactively monitor clients and environment during service delivery

  • Reporting feedback to management

  • Maintain strict professional boundaries with clients and their families

About you

  • Experience in the facilitation of groups for people with disabilities and the ageing

  • Ability to contribute and support a positive team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to follow policies and procedures

  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to work health and safety requirements

 

The successful applicant will need (or be willing to obtain):

  • Current Driver's Licence and access to a reliable and insured vehicle

  • Availability to a Smart Phone

  • Working with Children Children Check

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • Current First Aid Certificate

  • Proof of vaccination against COVID 19

 

The following would be highly regarded:

  • LR/HR Licence

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health and/or Certificate IV in Aged Care

  • 3 years demonstrated experience in delivering group activities
